CTAA Event on Studio Vives in Teulada

Last Thursday, we enjoyed a very special afternoon at Bodega Montesanco, where the “Nuestra Arquitectura” series organized by the Alicante Regional College of Architects brought together architects, collaborators, clients, and friends to share a conversation about architecture, landscape, and ways of living in the region.

The event, featuring Silvia Vives, director of Studio Vives, and her entire team, offered a tour of some of the studio’s most representative projects and its approach to Mediterranean architecture.

During the conference, Silvia explained how each project arises from carefully listening to the site, seeking an architecture that does not impose itself on the landscape but rather engages in a dialogue with it through materials, light, the breeze, and the continuity between the interior and exterior.

“Architecture does not begin with a preconceived idea, but with the ability to listen to the place. Only in this way can spaces emerge that belong to the landscape and enhance the way we experience it.”

The event took place in a very special setting: Bodega Montesanco, a renovation project also designed by Studio Vives, where the architecture restores the character of the existing complex and establishes a natural connection with the surrounding vineyard landscape.

The building itself became the best example of the values discussed during the talk: respect for the existing structure, material authenticity, and architecture designed to be lived in.

CONTEXT

After the conference, attendees were able to tour the winery, chat in a relaxed atmosphere, and enjoy an evening surrounded by wine, architecture, and scenery.

A time to share ideas, strengthen ties, and continue building a community of professionals who view architecture as a discipline deeply connected to the local area and its people.
